Due to its having fewer calories, feta is a good choice for dieters. Feta is a good choice also because it has a rich flavor and is high in sodium. So, enjoy the feta and ensure you drink plenty of water as well.

Ricotta Cheese

Ricotta cheese, also known to have originated from Italy, is a healthy variety of cheese. It is prepared using whey protein from the milk of the Italian water buffalo. When prepared from whole milk, it contains only 174 calories and 11 gm protein per 100 gm. Ricotta is also rich in vitamins and minerals. The cheese can be added to several Italian desserts such as cheesecakes and cannoli, lasagna, stuffed shells, and used as a pizza topping. However, keep the sugar and other fattening elements out of your ricotta if you are including the cheese in your weight loss plan.

Parmesan Cheese

Considered to be among the top cheeses by cheese connoisseurs, the Parmesan cheese is another healthy choice for dieters. It is great in taste and low in calories. Parmesan is also rich in calcium, vitamin A, vitamins B6 and B12, phosphorus, zinc, and copper. You can add the cheese to salads or soups for an extra kick or can toss it into veggies.
